Read more »Year 1 Arts Week and Science Experiments, Jan 2020
During Arts week Year 1 looked at the artist Lily Simsonson who takes her artistic inspiration from Antarctica. We watched a short video about how she explores life under the water in Antarctica by travelling in a scientific submarine and sometimes she even goes in the water herself!! We looked carefully at some of her art work and tried to create our own interpretations using a variety of media. It was messy at times but great fun! Year 1 have been learning about our senses in science. We have tested out each of our senses with a range of simple experiments.

Year 1 celebrated this term's work on our topic of the polar regions. We performed our penguin dances to parents, showed our clay sculpture Polar bears and art work, read our information booklets and sold cakes to help the WWT save the Polar bears and prevent global warming.
