Once a Roman legionary fortress, Carleon provided the location for Year Five's wow day to develop a greater understanding of their history topic on the Romans. The children explored the site including trying on replicas of Roman armour, visiting the baths and the amphitheatre. They even discovered how tooth ache was treated depending on whether you were rich or poor. I am reliably informed that I would not have wanted to have been poor if I had tooth ache...perhaps you can find out the treatment..!
