A musical end of term!

It may have been the end of term but we had a very musical day today...

This morning Mrs Whitehouse took a group of Key Stage 1 children to sing to residents at The Lodge in the village. The choir sang a number of carols and songs from their recent performance, 'A Noisy Nativity'. I understand that the audience was delighted with the singing and the children were a credit to the school. Well done!

This afternoon the sound of carols filled the air as we ended the term with our traditional event, Carols on the Playground. All wrapped up in coats, scarves and hats, the whole school was joined on the front playground by an assembled crowd of parents and grandparents to sing our favourite traditional carols including O Come all ye Faithful and Away in a Manger. After a quiet moment of reflection to consider those for whom Christmas will be a difficult time, we all sang a rousing version of Hark the Herald to end the term. Thank you to Year 6 for organising the sound system. Happy Christmas to all!
