Sue Horsnell, LEA advisor and Ofsted Inspector led a workshop on the characteristics of outstanding schools and the journey from 'good' to 'great'. We had an opportunity to look at some examples of teaching and consider important features such as autonomy and independence, engagement, challenge and feedback. We even had an opportunity to critique some lessons we observed. During the final part we watched an inspiring TED talk by the late Rita Pierson on the importance of relationships. It was a great start to the year and we are raring to go...
