It was lovely to see so many people in the Chapel; it really was standing room only! All children took part in some wonderful singing of both traditional and more contemporary Easter hymns and artwork was presented depicting the different stations of the cross in the style of different artists from Monet to Matisse. Children told the Easter story from the excitement of Palm Sunday, to the betrayal of Jesus, his crucifixion and subsequent rising from the dead! We had poetry, verse and narration.

After lunch the whole school took part in the Easter Arts Trail when each class presented their artwork as an exhibition and classes journeyed around the school finding out a little more detail about the Easter story. We also found out about palm crosses that Reverend Maddock had given to each of the children and said a special prayer. The artwork helped to explain the parts of the story and we enjoyed learning about the different artists who had inspired the pictures. Why not come to the hall after Easter where the pictures will be on display?
