Yesterday, two teams represented the school at the Rotary Youth Speaks competition. What an entertaining evening it was with seven teams competing from our local area with a variety of speeches from the over use of antibiotics to the merits (or not) of screen time.

Wrington’s chosen topics were ‘The benefits of learning to play a musical instrument’ (Francis, Ellie and Harry) and ‘Taking Flight: The future of drones’ (Amelia, Ailidh and Eleanor). Each member of each team spoke with such confidence, passion and eloquence. What stars they all were! In terms of the  competition, I am delighted to report that Ellie won ‘Best Speaker’ and first place in the overall team category was awarded to Amelia, Ailidh and Eleanor. ‘Bravo bravissimo’ as we say in celebration service!

Thank you very much to Mrs. Clarke who supported the teams through the whole process.
